As you can see from this photograph, when you go through the Oracle shopping centre in Reading there is a traffic light controlled one way system.
As mentioned a couple of days ago, here is Fobney lock, you can see the annoying weir on the right of this photo.
Has anyone any idea what this is beside the lock? Please leave a comment if you do!

From your photo it looks like an Ordnance Survey (OS)Triangulation (Trig) Point. If it is there will be a bronze plate on top with three deep grooves radiating from a circle that was used to sit the theodolite on for a precice location. OS maps have the Trig points marked if you want to check

No, I don't think it's a trig point, it didn't have the markings on the top, and the sides seem to be dark glass?!
