I will still have two solid fuel stoves on Sirius, I will have a Squirel (without a back boiler) in the living room, personally I think you can't beat a nice fire on a narrowboat, it might be a bit more hastle but it's always nice to see a real fire crackling away.

I recently tried to change the fuel filter, a job for which I was extremely underprepared at the time, despite having read up on everything I could find on the topic! I have yet to update the blog that far yet, but it'll make it to press soon.

The Navy already have a couple of bnarrowboats that frewuestly ply up and down the Oxford Canal from thier base at Calcutt Marina. They are nb Lafter and nb The Andrew.

It is fun to watch the antics of our heroic seaman as they get tangled upp in ropes trying to moor in the wind! They are just like us lesser mortals and often end up across the canal woth a WRN hanging onto the centre

I love spiders so do not miond them coming in at all. They keep the flies and mosdges down.

I have been lobbying BW for a fairer auction system, such as eBay, where they give a starting bid (their costs?) and then all bidders know what they are up against. I believe that they have agreed this in their review documents but haven't implemented it yet.

Being stuck because of flow conditions is a far cry form overstaying for which there is never really an excuse. BW are sympathetic to crisers for continuous cruisers such as illness, bereavement etc. But you are not a continuous cruiser are you?
